This morning, the Chairman of DPFZA received at Red Sea World, Mr. Esmlealem Mihiretu, the CEO of the Ethiopian Petroleum Supply Enterprise (EPSE). Accompanying Mr. Mihiretu were his esteemed colleagues Mr. Tadesse Hailemariam and Mr. Abayneh Awel.
The Ethiopian Petroleum Supply Enterprise complained that, due to the current unavailability of two storage tanks of Horizon Terminal storage for a one year maintenance, and the delay in delivery of fuel on trucks leaving from Horizon, they are looking for alternatives.
During the meeting, several solutions and areas of collaborations were discussed :
– The utilisation of M/T Red Sea II floating storage facility of 73 000 CBM as an immediate solution. – The installing of the Djibouti Port community system (DPCS) platform for EPSE in their headquarter office in Addis, to follow accurately and on time the transaction from Horizon Terminal to Ethiopia, which will help the tracking of trucks.
– The use of oil storage facilities at Damerjog Industrial Park. – EPSE also proposed to export coal through the Ports of Djibouti. This initiative aims to streamline the export process and enhance logistical efficiency.
These discussions mark a significant step forward in fostering stronger ties and cooperation.
